According to the new changes made by the ICC, within how much time a batsman will have to be ready to face the ball in “ODIs and Tests”?

  • A. 6 minute
  • B. 2 minute
  • C. 3 minute
  • D. 8 minute

Correct Answer: B. 2 minute

A host of changes have been announce by the ICC to the Playing Conditions, which will come into effect on October 1, 2022. An incoming batter will now be required to be ready to take strike within two minutes in Tests and ODIs, while the current threshold of 90 seconds in T20Is remains unchanged. Previously, the incoming batter had 3 minutes to take strike in ODIs and Tests but it has now been reduced. Failing to do so, the fielding captain can appeal for a timed out.
