The Battle of Plassey was battle between Siraj ud–Daulah, the last independent Nawab of Bengal, and the British East India Company. British East India Company decisive victory over the Nawab of Bengal and his French allies on 23 June 1757, under the leadership of Robert Clive. The battle took place after the attack and plunder of Calcutta by Siraj–ud–daulah and the Black Hole of Calcutta tragedy.
