Nord Stream 2 is a 1,200km-long offshore natural gas pipeline being constructed to connect Europe to

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suspended certification of Nord Stream 2 on 22 February 2022 in consequence of Russia’s recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics and the deployment of troops in territory held by the DPR and LPR.

The state of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians is a crime against humanity and is illegal under international law, Amnesty International said on Tuesday. The rights group says Israel’s “oppression and domination” of Palestinians amounts to apartheid. Luc Montagnier, a French virologist who shared a Nobel Prize in 2008 for discovering the virus that causes AIDS, died on 8 February 2022 in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine. He was 89. The town hall in Neuilly confirmed that a death certificate for Dr. Montagnier had been filed there. Luc Montagnier was a French virologist and joint recipient, with Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Harald zur Hausen, of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
US President Joe Biden signed into law a bill titled, “Ghost Army Congressional Gold Medal Act”, to provide recognition to the ‘Ghost Army’. It is a tactical deception unit deployed by the US during World War II. There are just nine surviving veterans of the Ghost Army across the US. The Congressional Gold Medal is the Congress’s highest award of national appreciation for distinguished contributions.
