Ms. Murmu is the country’s first tribal leader in the top post. The president in India is the head of the state but does not exercise executive powers. Droupadi Murmu took oath as the 15th President of India on 25 July 2022.

John Bolton, former US president Donald Trump`s national security adviser, has admitted that he was involved in planning coups in foreign countries. Bolton made the stunning revelation during an interview with CNN anchor Jake Tapper while discussing the Jan 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol building by Trump`s supporters. The attack, he claimed, was not a `coup d`état against the US Constitution,` arguing that Trump was not smart enough to plan a coup properly.

Mountaineer Wasifa Nazreen became the first person from Bangladesh to scale the second highest mountain peak K2 in Pakistan. She climbed the 8611 meters or 28,251 feet high K2 mountain peak and returned to the base camp on 22 July 2022. A summit is technically complete when the climber returns back to the base camp from the peak.

Shinzo Abe, a former prime minister of Japan and a serving member of the House of Representatives, was assassinated on 8 July 2022 while speaking at a political event outside Yamato-Saidaiji Station in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, Japan. While delivering a campaign speech for a Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) candidate, he was shot from behind at close range by a man with a homemade firearm.
